Veronika Blomgren, one of Russia's most prominent designers, is co-founder of the most exclusive interior design school in Russia, named "Details"; she is also the creator and owner of the brand OAZIA.

Born in Moscow at a time when Russia was a country of granite colour and bleak moods, modern art forms and artistic expression was heavily censored. Access to information from the rest of the world was extremely limited and professions such as Interior Designer did not even exist.

At the age of 19 and in love with a Swedish journalist, Veronika moved to Stockholm where she studied at Konstskola, the only private art college at the time. The years that followed changed Veronika's life. Her studies encompassed all possible art forms – oil painting, watercolour drawing, photography, classical and modern sculpture and more. It was here that she discovered her passion for architecture and design.

Returning to Moscow in 1994, Veronika began working for private clients. Learning as she applied herself, and as the client list began to grow, Veronika became well known as an Interior Designer, of which there were very few. She worked closely with some of the best Russian architects, most of whom were also just beginning their successful careers. Valuable lessons learnt – by becoming one of the most famous interior designers in Russia, Veronica also became a very independent business woman.

In 1999, at the age of 28, Veronika opened the first private design showroom in Moscow, sourcing furniture and eclectic décor from all over the world, being one of the first to introduce Asian art and craftsmanship to the Russian market. Together with a close friend, she also started her own furniture line. The showroom was so successful and requests from clients so many, that one year later she opened her own studio. As that business also rapidly grew, the idea of founding a school of Interior Design was born.

Established in 2000, "Details The School of Interior Design" is now the most endowed private educational institution in Russia. Most of the noted Russian "stars" of interior design studied there and in fact, many of them are lecturers at the school today.

Veronika's projects have been endorsed in every major Russian Interior Design magazine, as well as being featured in Vogue, AD, Elle Decoration, House and Garden and many many more. Named one of the "Iron Ladies of the Russian Luxury World" by Vogue, Veronika has also made guest appearances on numerous television programs and her projects have been showcased in various exhibitions.

In 2008, following her dream of living on a magical island and opening her first boutique hotel, Veronika left behind her very successful career and moved to Bali. OAZIA Spa Villas soon became known as a unique destination in Asia. Winning "Best Spa Design" by AsiaSpa Awards in 2010, and "World Luxury Spa Awards" in Indonesia in 2012, OAZIA Spa Villas received 13 different nominations for AsiaSpa Awards, was featured in Conde Nast Johansen and dozen more world-wide publications. OAZIA Spa Villas became the beginning of a unique lifestyle concept.

Since then, OAZIA has grown into a premium lifestyle brand and now includes a boutique hotel in Bali, property developments on the Indonesian islands of Flores and Sumba, OAZIA Design Studios, OAZIA Spavodka Lobster Bar, OAZIA Fashion Gallery, OAZIA Luxury Resort Wear and ALEXA by TALIKA OAZIA Private Cruises, a luxury private sailing vessel.

Veronika also created the now famous design style known as "Holistic Design" - a celebration of beauty in all forms. Each project under this uniting concept follows responsible environmental practises, respect for tradition and an appreciation for local artisans and craftsmen. Within this philosophy, classical design laws and proportions are combined with clean lines and open spaces. Veronika strongly believes exceptional design is the essential element for a happy and healthy life. OAZIA Design Studios follows the Holistic Design approach with every project.
